The November meeting of the Berlin Quilters Guild was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Irene Gallant in the Community Room of the St. Kierans Art Center.
Irene displayed a citation from Response which recognized the Guild’s donation of a raffle quilt which will be used by Response to raise money for their organization. The members agreed that any such recognition the Guild receives should be displayed at the 2010 quilt show.
There were no new members.
Secretary’s report was accepted with a few minor revisions.
Treasurer’s report was accepted as read. Final balance as of November 2 is $968.36.
Old Business. A sign up sheet was circulated for the Christmas Party.
The executive board requested that members arrive no earlier that 6:45 to allow the board to hold a meeting prior to the general meeting. Motion made by Donna Gagne, seconded by Laurie Bryant and Arlene Lambert. Motion approved.
NHSQA. A motion was made by Beth Lorden and seconded by Sylvia Charest to try the membership for one year. Motion approved.
DVD on threads for $12.80. A motion was made by Ann Gosselin and seconded by Sylvia Charest to purchase the DVD. Motion approved.
Dues. Dues were due in September.
Membership form. Irene Gallant has created a new form for all members, new and existing to fill out. It will contain helpful information such as phone numbers, e-mail addresses etc.
Spring Fling. The committee will call for prices for pizzas. All quilt show participants will be invited to the Spring Fling regardless of membership in a guild. Arlene Lambert has the directions for making the tea bag holders which will be given as favors.
New Business. If members have questions about meeting time, or possible cancellations, they should call Arlene Lambert, Barb Barbieri, Irene Gallant, Denise Goulet or Darla Annis between 4:00 and 5:00 pm on the day of the meeting.
Health and Human Services asked the Guild to donate a raffle quilt for Northern Lights. An informal agreement was made to look for a suitable quilt in the guild’s collection of quilts.
Suggestions for projects. Quilts for children which would help use some of the Guild’s large stash of fabrics.
NHSQA. A question was raised if one of the meetings of NHSQA could be held at St. Kierans Arts Center.
